Purpose

I have been inspired to talk about this thing called purpose.  You hear people talking about it all the time.  It has become a quest for so many.  I know I myself have spent, maybe even wasted, many hours contemplating upon it.
Wait a second she said wasted?  Yep, I did.

I believe that there can be too much time focused on waiting to be inspired or enlightened with your purpose, that you actual miss the opportunities to actually experience or discover it.

The other thing about purpose is who says there is just one?

Sure Gandhi, Gandhi

and a countless of other public figures seem to have had one great purpose. Does not mean that unless we have one great sacrifice or obvious purpose, our life is any less important? I think not.

Some are seemingly born with an innate knowing of what they were put on this earth, this go around, to do.  Can you imagine the challenge that experience presents? Just because you have PURPOSE…does not mean your life is complete.  For some the challenges are only beginning.  Purpose is not winning the game, the mere act of searching for it is sometimes the answer in itself.

The point is, we can spend so much of our lives waiting…that we fail to live.  Just the fact that you may be wondering or seeking out your purpose is a step in creating it.  If you strive for purpose, create it. You also don’t have to stick to just one…your so called PURPOSE can change and grow as you do.

When it comes to purpose…you need to be an active participant in the search of it. What do I mean by that?  Well…you cannot just sit by and hope to find your purpose. You can’t expect to sit back and just want to know what your purpose is.  You can ask and ask till you are blue in the face and you may get ideas thrown at you, but nothing will probably stick if you just sit there. You may be shown signs and given messages, but unless you listen and put things into motion nothing will really click.

So what are we supposed to do?  LIVE.
Be an active participant in your own life.  The cool thing about us…humans, in this world, this lifetime, is we have free will.  We have all been born with decision making abilities, we can all dream and aspire.

Take some time to look at your life.
Go through and spend some time reviewing your life experiences.  Every experience has helped to mold you into who you are today.  What do you like and what is it that you don’t like about your life?  What is it you would like to change?  What gives you passion?  What did you want to do when you were young?  What gives you joy?  When answering any of these questions don’t write down your family or your relationship…that is a given.  You have permission to make this list all about you.

Who knows you may discover your purpose has always been there…waiting for you to accept it or acknowledge it.  If you are still feeling lost and no closer to discovering it then get out and do something about it!  Experience life, find out what it is that give you joy.  Try new things, attend a new group, pick up a book…

According to Sir Isaac Newton:

An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force. An object in motion continues in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

This law is often called
“the law of inertia”.

What does this mean? Well…There is a natural tendency of objects to keep on doing what they are doing…If you sit wanting something, you perpetuate sitting and wanting something, never to be fulfilled. Basically if you want more fun…have some fun, if you want more meaning in your life, do something (anything, regardless of size) that has meaning.

Go now and create your purpose!

Namaste~
