Maybe by allowing something to just “be” for now…will result in something bigger than what we could ever imagined before?

20121210-222835.jpgI recently stepped outside of my comfort zone and…wait a minute here, who am I kidding?  Recently?  Whatever!  I don’t know about the rest of you, but stepping outside our comfort zone seems to be the new zone!

Everywhere I turn people are talking about some form of change. With the talk of change comes frustration and aggravation.  We are all creatures of habit and even though I like change,  I like to have some control over it. HA! For what seems like the majority, change is uncomfortable we seem to have a natural aversion that which is uncomfortable.

The Goddess Kali (pictured above) really is representative to this cycle right now… She is about beginnings and endings. Seeking her will help you with your transitions as well as acceptance of change. I like to call upon her for strength.

So how are we suppose to navigate through this cycle of time.  A cycle by the way that reminds me of that song from the Lamb chop’s Play-Along show (yes I am dating myself).  You know the one…Shirley McClain sang it at the end of the show.

This is the song that doesn’t end.

Yes, it goes on and on my friend.

Some people started singing it not knowing what it was,

And they’ll continue singing it forever just because . . .

That is where I feel we are at…stuck in this round, this circle.  A circle that obviously is continuing until we stop and pay attention.  The biggest message attached to this repeated cycle seems to be TRUST

Trust you say…haven’t we already worked on that?  Yep…you have, we have, I have.  But how is that going for you?

We are all in different stages so… to get you really thinking on where you sit with the lessons of Trust…or Trusting, here are a few probing questions.

  • Have you been able to release worry and just trust that the bills will be paid?
  • Have you been able to completely delegate a project and trust that it will be done right and on time (without your needing to step in)?
  • Have you been able to accept a standstill in a project or relationship and just let it be without trying to figure out what you need to do next if…anything to fix it?
  • Have you been able to trust that you are exactly where you need to be on your path?
  • Are you able to trust your intuition, your inner voice?
  • Are you able to trust yourself?

Trust is so big…I am positive I haven’t touched on all the key areas we need to work on allowing trust in our lives.

Now when I say we need to trust where we are at…and let things happen they way they are to happen I am not advocating we remove accountability from our lives or our actions.  Quite the contrary actually.  What I want us to do is to learn to listen within and when we have gone through our process of trying to figure out a plan (whatever your personal process is) when you do not come up with a plan or you feel stuck…sometimes the best thing to do is trust that you are where you need to be.  You need to trust that for whatever reason we need to take a step back from the doing and the pushing ahead…the continual forward motion and let things process.  Maybe…just maybe the final outcome the greatest and best outcome has not yet been even fathomed.  Maybe it is bigger than what we can even imagine at this stage of our path.  By allowing it to breath…give it space to be what ever it is at that particular moment in time… it will eventually grow into something we had not even allowed ourselves to imagine it could be.  How can we know what we do not yet know?

Learning to allow time to happen is hard. It is funny how this one word…Time can bring us to our knees begging for either more of it or for it to move faster. It is that special ingredient that we hate to use when working on manifesting things into our lives.   We always seem to want to fast forward it to the good parts… the happy times when sometimes slowing down is the best way to get to the good parts…those happy times.

Energetically we are all feeling it, this expansion.  Expansion is beautiful however when you are smack dab in the middle of it, it can be painful. Everything is changing, how we think, process even how we learn.

The best way to the most out of this cycle of time and even possibly speed up the process is to take some time and step outside your comfort zone.  Be willing to try new things or things that you normally wouldn’t allow yourself to do.

Let’s think for a moment about the caterpillar.  Here you have one of the best natural examples of trust…allowance…and the acceptance of change.  A small slow moving creature…content to crawl upon his leaf or a blade of grass, eating. He thought this was his life.  Did he dream of flying with the wind and exploring the world? Possibly.  Did he know how he was going to do it?  Did he hatch a plan to grow wings?  Probably not… what he did was allow his dream to become a reality.  He put his trust in the possibilities.  Was the transition a painless one?  I can only imagine it was not.  A complete metamorphosis set in.  Throughout the pain of this transition he held on to his dream and trusted it was possible.  Do you think he ever imagined the beauty that he would possess?  Was that even something he sought?  My point is he received better than he could have ever imagined.  Trust that the trials and tribulations you transition through are only a small part of the process. Trusting in the process and allowing it to happen can bring you results that are bigger and better than you could have ever imagined or hoped for.

Sometimes by chosing to make small changes that you can control helps us to accept the big changes that get suddenly sprung upon us.  So…take  a moment this week… yes, again… and do something outside your comfort zone.  Make it part of your routine to accept the unexpected.

I have learned that by allowing myself to step outside my comfort zone and do things that I normally would not do, I have gained more confidence and trust in my own abilities.  We are always our worst critics and by allowing myself to be “out” there more…I am not as afraid.

Oof da!…Fear… probably getting about that time to discuss that again as well…

Enjoy your week!

Namaste~
