If Intentions=Manifestations…Then why am I not a millionaire by now?

20121021-223122.jpgLet’s talk about Intentions and manifestations. This is something more and more of us are starting to blend into our lives. The thing I am noticing however is that often times we don’t see or recognize what we have intended or manifested. So many of us do not recognize what we have manifested for what it is.  So often what we are looking to manifest may not seem to us like anything we expected it to.

What does it mean to manifest something to you? What does it look like? Are you willing to look at it a different way? Let’s take a look at some words related to manifestation (which I found in the lovely Merriam Webster Dictionary).

Here they are:

  1. actualization
  2. concretization
  3. exemplification
  4. personalization
  5. realization
  6. substantiation
  7. essence, quintessence, soul; archetype, exemplar, model, paradigm, pattern; reincarnation

An interesting group of words don’t you think?

Let’s look at Abundance as an example of an intention ; this is a very popular one that many set. However when we ask or set an intention for abundance… peace, happiness, etc., What are we asking for? Are we asking for one thing and not really aware of how it is manifesting itself to us.  I believe the reason is that we sometimes hold a single meaning to an intention which doesn’t allow us to see the full beauty of the gift we have set with our intention.    Below is an abbreviated version of the meaning of the word abundance that I found in the Merriam Webster Dictionary.

Abundance: an ample quantity, affluence, wealth, relative degree of plentifulness

lot, barrel, basketful, boatload, bucket, bunch, bundle, bushel, carload, chunk, deal, dozen, fistful, gobs, good deal, heap, hundred, lashings (also lashins) [chiefly British], loads, mass, mess, mountain, much, multiplicity, myriad, oodles, pack, passel, peck, pile, plateful, plenitude, plentitude, plenty, pot, potful, profusion, quantity, raft, reams, scads, sheaf, shipload, sight, slew, spate, stack, store, ton, truckload, volume, wad, wealth, yard

Have you ever spent numerous days/months/years intending Abundance over and over again trying to get that specific abundance (of lets say more money)?  Thinking why is this not working?  Have you looked deeper at what you may have created in your life?  When you have held this specific intention are your thoughts focused on needing more of?  Are you then creating “more of” the need or want for money?  Are you creating a vicious cycle or want or need or lack of?  Typically what we end up creating is the need for more of the item we are seeking.

Could you be receiving an “abundance” of something else?  Have you taken a look at all that you do have in your life?  Love, friends, peace…maybe other areas in your life have multiplied?

My point is intentions are powerful. I have found that when I have set an intention, the true intention I am actually setting, is in the feelings that I place behind the intention.  It is not the words I am saying as much as the truth I am feeling.

Practice setting your intentions through your feelings.  Think about the feeling you want to multiply, enhance, create more of.  This is truly the answer for successful manifestations.

If all you can think of is money…well, for a moment, pretend that you have all that you need.  Envision yourself in a situation where money is not an issue, How do you feel?  What would you intend then?  Incorporate that feeling in the intention you are setting.

Yes…Money is necessary.  Think about changing your opinion of money, your emotional connection to money.  Stop thinking that Money is something “other” people have, or it is a

necessary “evil”, or that you are not “lucky”… or that you work so hard for nothing, these emotions send a strong message to the universe. Our feelings and emotions are much stronger in the intentions that we set, then the words we actually speak.

No matter what you are intending, remember that the emotions attached to the issue are stronger than the intentions that you set.

Practice this week setting an intention, from a new perspective and see what manifests.  Spring is about seeding for qrowth…plant your seeds of intention with love and positivity and see what growths.

Have a wonderful Monday!
